SPRING SEASON (2021) |
Please contact the Registrar at registrar@carlsbadsoftball.org with your daughter's full name and birth date to have her placed on the waitlist.
The CSA spring season is always an exciting time to play softball among close friends. It's our most popular season and a great opportunity for players to continue to build on their skills and experience. While there is significant focus on fundamental skills, the season remains competitively fun with intra-league games playing other teams involved in the league.
We offer all ages from 6 and under, 8U, 10U, 12U and 15U.
Your daughter's division of play is determined by birth years as follows:
New from USA Softball SoCal, girls born in 2005 are eligible to play in 15U. This gives more girls an opportunity to play, including those who might have lost their high school season. Please note that this applies to the Spring recreational season ONLY and not to All-Stars, which will revert back to 14U, with 2006 and 2007 birthdates only.
Division | 6U | 8U | 10U/12U/14U |
---|---|---|---|
Early | $80 | $125 | $150 |
Regular | $90 | $135 | $160 |
Late | $100 | $145 | $170 |
+$5 Non-Resident Fee | +$5 Non-Resident Fee | +$5 Non-Resident Fee |
There is also a $10.00 sibling discount if you have more than 1 child registering for the season. The cost includes a team jersey, softball pants, and socks as well as umpire fees, and practice field lights.
CSA follows the safety guidelines for youth sports mandated by the State of California, San Diego County, and the City of Carlsbad. Changes to current guidelines in response to COVID-19 spread/outbreaks may occur.
With current State and County guidelines, we are planning to start the Spring season as we have been running our “Girls of Summer” and Fall Ball programs. Groups of up to fourteen girls will be placed on teams for practice and 7-on-7 scrimmaging. If we are given the green-light for competitive team play, the Spring Program will shift to include inter-league and/or intra-league games.
If state/county/city guidelines require more strict conditions, such as the institution of a stay-at-home order, and softball practices are unable to occur, CSA will consider prorated refunds for Spring registration fees based on incurred expenses (such as uniforms, umpire fees, lights, etc.) and the length of time we were able to have practices and/or games.
CSA hosts spring games on Saturday mornings through late afternoon, depending on age division.
Games between teams will be scheduled to start in February, or some time after, dependent on when San Diego County moves to the red tier of the color-coded classification system for COVID-19. Due to the uncertainty surrounding the spread of COVID-19 this year, Saturday games may be an optional practice instead of a game against another team.
Each year during the spring season, CSA provides special clinics for players to attend at little or no extra cost.
At the end of the spring season, CSA hosts a fun playoff tournament within most age divisions. The tournament is held at the end of April.
Practices for your daughter's team are currently scheduled to start the week of February 1st. When we meet the requirements per the state guidelines for competitive team play, the Spring Program will shift to include intra-league and possibly inter-league games. Please note that all dates and plans are TENTATIVE.

A volunteer deposit check of $300 will be collected from you by your team parent. If your two shifts are not completed by a responsible adult as scheduled, your deposit check will be cashed. After volunteer shifts are completed, your check will be shredded or returned to you per your request.
In the event that volunteer shifts are not made available during the Spring season (i.e. we cannot open the snack bar), your check will be shredded or returned to you per your request.
